Simple weave using diverse equipment and materials

This hands-on workshop will begin with a brief discussion of weaving materials: created, purchased and foraged. The session will be led by Sue Szary, owner of Twin Birch & TEASEL Fiber Studio in Siler City. Guest weaving guides will assist with the mechanics of manipulating several types of weaving looms, process and techniques. All materials are included and no weaving experience is necessary. Breathe deeply, release your fibery creativity and have fun.

Co-Owner of Twin Birch & Teasel retail/fiber studio in Siler City, NC. Sue spins and weaves and embraces any opportunity to explore the world of working with fiber. What began as a "bonding experience" 35 years ago has evolved into a true fibery rabbit hole chock full of looms, wheels and possibilities.

• This workshop is not eligible for use with a Deep River Folk School season pass.

• Overnight Camping available for $20

• The workshops cover knowledge and hands-on experience.

• Youth, under 18, may not attend free with an adult. Instead, they should be registered independently.
