Green Burials
with Raymond Morrison
Natural and green burials offer options to express our care for the earth, even in death. Additionally, they open doorways to community-driven care with a personal, intimate, non-dogmatic, pragmatic and spiritual approach to returning to the earth and the mystery. In this workshop, we will explore earth-loving options for your body’s final act.
Three hours will give us time for a solid foundational understanding of green burial, both generally and specifically in terms of local regulations and resources. Raymond will also bring in his experience as a shroud maker and death doula, by offering space for participants to start planting seeds for their own conscious dying/ green burial journeys as well as having a shrouding demonstration.

This workshop is eligible for use with a season pass.
Youth under 18 may attend free with an adult registered for the same workshop (1 youth per adult).
Early-bird pricing ($40) is available through Oct 1. After that, the cost is $55.
Meet your Instructor: Raymond Hillan-Morrison

Apprentice. Weaver. Educator.
Raymond is a weaver, communicator, and shroudmaker’s apprentice from The Art of Dying. He is passionate about conscious dying, and making community Death care more accessible and possible for everyone to experience. He is at the beginning of his journey of being in service to a good Death for all, and cherishes the opportunity to carry on the tradition of his mentor. He is also a natural dyer and has big plans to create hand-woven shrouds from naturally dyed materials.
Raymond lives in Smithfield, NC with his teen foster child where he teaches communication at the local community college.
