The Art of Wood Joinery:
Build Your Own Japanese Wooden Box
Unlock the secrets of ancient craftsmanship in this hands-on workshop focused on the craft of no-nail joinery. Historically, master builders—from the miyadaiku of Japan to the cathedral builders of Europe—relied on the precise geometry of wood-to-wood connections to create structures that could survive for centuries. In this session you will reconnect with material wisdom by building a beautiful, functional wooden box using only interlocking joints and wooden fasteners. All materials will be provided, however students should come with basic hand tools.
